Matomo, formerly known as Piwik, is a free and open source web analytics application developed by a team of international developers. This premium web analytics and conversion optimisation tool is designed to give you the most conclusive insights with a complete range of features such as heatmaps, sessions recordings, goals, form analytics, visitor profiles, ecommerce and funnels. It tracks online visits to one or more websites and displays reports on these visits for analysis. In 2018 Matomo was used by almost 1.5 M websites which is 1.3% of all websites n over 190 countries. Matomo values privacy protection, 100% data ownership and no data sampling.
